Each Teesside Hero receives £1,000 for a local cause of their choice – plus a gleaming trophy. The nominee must live within the councils of Middlesbrough, Hartlepool, Redcar and Cleveland, Stockton On Tees and now Darlington too and do good for the community without monetary compensation.
