The wildflower area has been established for many years however it needs rejuvenating by replanting plug plants and seeds. we do also need to overcome the thistles and grass. We are saving up to fund this work however we need volunteers to work alongside us to help with the work.
This would suit a couple of friends or a small group to take it over eventually. The area the bed is situated in is a very peaceful place and instils a sense of peace. This helps whoever is working there to also find peace of mind and a distraction of the word’s worries.
This opportunity is for a Team
This opportunity is based in Redcar & Cleveland
The Friends of Redcar Cemetary are a volunteer group who have been working in partnership with the local authority for 21 years. We have made many improvements over the years for the benefit of visitors to the cemetery. We have a good relationship with the community. We hold fundraising events to fund items needed for the cemetery or if we need a big amount we put in for funding bids. Occasionally we need a new influx of helpers which enhances our work, we would love you to join us. If you don’t have experience in gardening we will help you settle in.
We hold special days Father and Mother’s days where we meet and give visitors gifts to visitors and we hold a special carol service held in the cemetery. We have socials 3 times a year where everyone gets together to help make a cohesive group stronger.
